My Rant Titled 'Who does this guy think he's fooling? (yes, I know half the country!)' Maybe I don't know how to listen, but I understood the president to equate the mythical assault weapon, whatever the heck that is, to a desire to overthrow the government. By assault weapon, I'm guessing he means a black M16 looking rifle that acts like every other semi automatic pistol I'm sure most of us have. Nobody has a magazine that holds 40, 50 or 100 rounds, do they? Is that real? I heard Biden assign scary (untrue) claims to perfectly legal firearms.

Biden says the uptick in gun violence during the pandemic lock down is due, in part to illegal guns, or something? How about hamstringing police agencies' ability to deal with gun violence? How many incidents did we see in Seattle, Portland, NYC, DC, Atlanta, Baltimore, St. Louis, etc... where crime went unanswered? If I were inclined to commit crime, I'd be encouraged by the leaders of these cities.

About these rouge gun dealers...isn't the fact that a gun bought or sold on the black market already illegal? Licensed fire arms dealers and gunsmiths aren't about to risk their licenses to dabble is black market firearms. So, again I ask, what is this man talking about? I'm ignorant in some of the nuances surrounding illegal guns, but I do know that most of the gun crime we've seen is just that...ITS ALREADY A CRIME! I'm sorry, Biden's arrogance annoys me.

The more I listen to Biden, the more I want to purchase an 'assault weapon' as an F.U. to Biden.

This has nothing to do with crime, they want a disarmed populace to do bad things to the populace. They are going on a route now to scare, and put legal licensed gun dealers out of business. No ammo and no new supply. The atf has always been an illegal entity making law that only congress is allowed to do and only laws that don’t conflict with our ultimate law of the land.

I would love for Biden to show were in our constitution, Bill of Rights federalist papers where it says rights, the 2nd amendment is not absolute, etc. When he says that he means you only have the rights I say you have. The only restriction on any right we as Americans have is we cannot infringe on any others rights. They are inalienable. Question is, how many will comply with these Illegal laws and regulations?

Firearms control to the extreme will not be useful to mitigate violent incidents. Firearms control only works on the assumption of those persons willing to comply with the law. However, this approach makes willingness to comply with this confiscation very unwilling and unable for a vast number of people, whether or not they normally law abiding. As for my self, I'm more willing to seek pardon than permission should things go any more adverse. Also, the definition of militia...might want to research it.

Ehhhhidunno…I got the AR I ordered after only a 2-month wait (instead of the projected 10-12 month timeframe. But thanks to Sleepy Joe, I believe I’m in the market for an F15 https://babylonbee.com/news/nation-starts-stocking-up-on-f-15s-after-biden-says-youll-need-them-to-overthrow-the-government

Update - Since I wrote this, the Senate committee voted 11-11 as expected. So now Chipman nomination goes to the floor, and it will come down to whether Manchin breaks with the president. He’s in a bad place.

Under ordinary circumstances, I'd say that a president sounding like a South American dictator, making threats against his own citizens, would be a disaster for him. As weird as things are right now I'm not so confident. All I can do is hope that Manchin and other mostly-2d Amendment supporters will see through Chairman Xiden's tough talk against the wrong people and just say no to Chipman.

Xiden's ill-advised comments will only reinforce in the minds of Normal People the "hands off" approach to criminals that this regime and their cohorts at the state and local level have adopted over the last couple of years. I can't imagine even under the worst circumstances that the general public blames itself for the rise in crime and violence, but between the labeling of the majority as "white supremacists" and "racists" and pointing at the law-abiding as the ones who need to be disarmed and prosecuted (instead of criminal gangs, both legal citizen types and illegals, the real sources of increased violence) it's clear that the left intends to make us the scapegoat. After all, we're the ones standing in the way of any move by the communist-democrat party to dismantle our freedom from the Constitution on down. Now that Chairman Xiden has spelled that out much more explicitly than before, I think the battle lines are clear to even the most detached, uninformed citizens. Hopefully, this will be a "peaceful battle" that takes place exclusively at the ballot box but you see some pretty militant language even in the most benign places these days. If folks aren't scared for the future, they must be intentionally not listening. God help us all.
