Does Jada get away with emasculating her husband...? That's the more operative question in all of this. Will Smith laughed at the joke. It wasn't that bad of a joke. The joke is Jada giving him the evil eye and telling him to do something... That's the outrage everyone seems to be missing in their "open" marriage.
First, Jada said she has traction alopecia. This is self-caused by attaching braids, straightening, wigs, whatever. Stress on the hair itself. Medical alopecia is an autoimmune disorder, which she does not have.
Second, the academy should have immediately removed him for the physical violence.
Third, the standing occasion made me I’ll.
Fourth, he should face serious consequences for how he shamed the academy in the eyes of the world, and broke the new academy rules about abuse.
Whether it was staged or not, many believe it was, is irrelevant. However justified Will Smith might have been, he was "overly reactive and should have just said something later offstage." Maybe a slap was in order, but not on live television. Will Smith has lowered the bar for acceptable behavior. He should be punished somehow for his actions to set an example for the potential that it will set off a litany of copycat behavior.
I thought it was staged in the clip I saw ( don’t watch the Oscars). However, when I am paying $100 to fill my gas tank and inflation is out of control, I have other things to do besides worry about what Elite Democrats do.
Rock has not pressed criminal charges. As for Smith skating, that's up to the Academy echelons. If this was on the level I could see Smith having cause because of the reference to the wife's medical condition. Disability mocking is below the belt in my view. It seems that Smith could have waited for the event to conclude before the confrontation.
Emily, there’s a substack called “A Midwestern Doctor” that has an article about this that’s worth a read. Interesting that there’s a new drug for alopecia coming out.
I don’t know ( I didn’t watch the Oscars) but I think that Smith should be punished just like Alec Baldwin, but he’s a black man and nothing will happen to him, because if the Oscars do anything to him then we will have the terrorist organization BLM rioting in the streets again and personally I don’t want that. They are big stars and they can do and say whatever they want.
I half expect it was staged. This is probably the most attention the AAs have gotten in 3 years. And he just won Best Actor, no way would they want to tarnish that!
Does Will Smith get away with hitting Chris Rock on live TV at the Oscars?
Pay NO ATTENTION to them.. the evil-doers are desperate for attention.

Yes. It was a hurtful joke but the response was also inappropriate. They'll talk and make up privately. Enough already.
This is so sad. The Oscars used to be old Hollywood Glamour celebrating the movies we all love. I don't watch it anymore.
Interesting that Pfizer just announced positive trial results for new alopecia drug. Is there ANYthing they won’t do?

Boy does Jada ever have a chip on her shoulder& a short leash on Will. Theater of the ABSURD. Grow up.

It was the slap heard around the world, Hollywood's version of black on black crime.
Of course he does.
I wish I could put a poll into a substack! I can't so I did it on twitter. Do you think the Will Smith - Chris Rock fight was real or fake? https://twitter.com/emilymiller/status/1508588511196241922?s=20&t=2oBKwdLcjb-iJYIgKn6hVQ
