Emily, I only wish i knew a way to help you. It appears that companies like Facebook and Twitter have been allowed to grow way too strong. I could go on and on about communist and socialist countries censorship of citizens and you are well versed in history, but it won't help you now. I'm willing to help if I can. Please keep sharing the truth Emily!

Considering the stories I keep reading about hospitals swamped with patients suffering from mysterious heart ailments -that "have nothing to do with the covid vaccinations", I wonder if this isn't actually an attempt to cut down the potential overcrowding? Or a way to deal with a nurse and doctor shortage after their earlier stupidity?

On your Facebook difficulties, have you looked into all the replacement sites that are being set up? I realize they are clunky and don't have the reach Facebook does but on the other hand, some of them are going to grow while Facebook is already at market saturation and is going to fade as it loses customers. Insulting and canceling half of their customer base isn't good business. You aren't unhappy to be absent from Yahoo or AOL, are you?

When the web was still pretty young, I thought about starting a blog. Instapundit was new and Glenn Reynolds sounded like he was struggling with finances back then. I thought it was a good time to get in and compete, though as things turned out, my time and energies went in other directions. I've thought about it since then but it has gotten to be a much bigger pond in which I would be a very small minnow.

I never signed up with Facebook. It seemed too intrusive and too much of a time sink. I have signed up with MeWe, Clouthub, Locals and Gab since the election. I don't know which will survive but I want to support Facebook alternatives even if I don't use them much. One of the problems is that much of the current posting is amateurish and crude. If you and other serious writers like you would post on them, they would grow and improve immensely. You would shine on any of them compared to Facebook where you are just one of many, and suppressed at that. With the advent of these Facebook alternatives, I think this may be a second chance for bloggers to get noticed and to stand out from the crowd.

On a more concrete level, I think my wife needs a subscription to your blogs too. I'll get her one.

It's analogous to a recent high profile case where police repetitively asked a witness if they wished to add to their testimony. The police played semantic games, and tried to claim they only asked the witness to add to their testimony, not change what already existed. However, in practice the witness understood this as a request to change their testimony.

Similarly, the wording from Methodist Hospital is encouragement only, and not an actual ban - nowhere does it flat out state care will not be given to the unvaccinated. However, it is also easily interpreted by health professionals involved with Methodist as a ban, allowing Methodist to say "these actions are taken by our associated professionals, not Methodist - Methodist never forbade the unvaccinated".

Without Methodist actively contradicting their statement (such as _explicitly_ refusing an unvaccinated person care), or without showing multiple Methodist policies, taken together and not singly, deny care to the unvaccinated, Methodist can hide behind word games all day long.

As far as Facebook is concerned, I recommend you consider being banned as a "when", not as an "if"; the only control you have may be timing. Would you rather lose your audience based upon disinterest in inhibited reporting, or lose it based upon sticking to your principles?

Is Methodist Hospital private? If so, those patients who have Medicare and or Medicaid should find a different facility to receive care in. In fact, I believe that medical status is a class characteristic under the Civil Rights Act. If you'll remember the dust up regarding AIDS and HIV, the courts compelled the medical professionals to help them. As for the Facebook issue, the Zucktarians will do as they will regardless of how we think. Applies to Social Media of all kinds. I think it's time some of these Big Tech people were taken to the woodshed and the Board of Education be heavily applied to their Seats of Learning. After all, Facebook and Amazon terms are rigged so dispute resolution only happens in their home areas, which is technically a First Amendment Government Petition violation

I live in Houston and I go to one doctor who was in one of the outlying Methodist Hospital sites far from the Med Center. I have an appointment with him on Monday. He has moved out of the actual hospital building and is in a nearby medical office building. So, I will try to let you all know how it goes as far as being unvaxxed. Houston is a Democrat run megalopolis with thousands of people from all around the world. However, it is not at all similar to Austin or Dallas. People here do not like being told what to do...you know what I mean...unconstitutional mandates, those types of things. I am new to this site, clicked over from Telegram. Emily, you seem to be on the same level as Alex Berenson and Glenn Greenwald, both of whom I greatly admire and read on Telegram and Substack. Take care and keep doing the next right thing. I read the terms of service on Substack and they are onerous and possibly terrifying... egads! I can just imagine some clever bum bringing this post back to haunt me... but I am a 73 yo grandma and only do this to pass time.. and probably won't live to regret it after all.

Encouraging vaccinated visitors is not the same as banning unvaccinated visitors. I don't see anything in any policy that says Methodist won't treat anyone, regardless of vaccination status. A lot of assumptions, no facts.
