Key People in Alec Baldwin Criminal Case for Shooting Halyna Hutchins on 'Rust'

Summary:
Alec Baldwin, 64, shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, and director Joel Souza, 48, on Oct. 21, 2021 on the “Rust” movie set on the Bonanza Creek Ranch. Hutchins died from her injuries.
Status:
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department finalized its investigation and gave it to the District Attorney’s Office. The case was investigated further and Baldwin was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaugther. He faces a maximum of five years in jail.

Luke Nikas is now Baldwin’s lawyer for his criminal and civil cases. He’s a partner at the New York law firm Quinn, Emanuel, Urquhart & Sullivan.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was the armorer for “Rust”, meaning she was in charge of the guns and ammo on set. She was charged like Baldwin with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. According to the sheriff’s reports, she loaded the gun and left it for Dave Halls to give to Balwin on set. Lawyer: Jason Bowles of Albuquerque (website).

David Halls was the assistant director who allegedly handed the gun to Baldwin. In his role, he is in charge of safety on set. He pled guilty to firearms charges and will be a witness against Baldwin and Guiterrez-Reed. Lawyer: Lisa Torraco of Albuquerque (website).
Joel Souza is the director of the movie and a producer. He was shot when the bullet from Baldwin’s gun went through Halyna and into Souza’s shoulder. He will be called as a witness at trial.
Sarah Zachary was the prop master for the movie and Hannah’s supervisor. She and Hannah took the guns to the set for the rehearsal. She will be a witness at the trials.
Seth Kenney is the owner of PDQ Arm & Prop and supplied the guns and most of the ammo for “Rust.” The D.A. said he did not bring the live rounds. Lawyer: Adam Engelskirchen of San Francisco.
Aaron S. Dyeris Baldwin’s lawyer. He’s a former Assistant U.S. Attorney and works in the LA at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman(website).
