Oh, yes! I do have to admit, though, I probably would be a buyer even without the extra funds. The only thing that slowed my buying over the last year or so was running out of "items" I wanted to add to my portfolio.
I didn’t get a stimulus check but I did just buy a new LaRue PredatOBR just so I can say I’m part of the buying spree. That’s my Biden gun. I have an Obamagun and a Clinton gun - and a more than a few others in between. However, good luck trying to feed your new toy since ammo is as scarce common sense - or should I say “commonsense”? 😉
You've probably seen the meme, "'Stimulus check,' you mean 'holster money.'"
I'm tempted to chalk this up to President Asterisk finally getting around to treating guns like the right he considers healthcare to be, but I still don't think all his dogs are barking upstairs.
When the gun-buying rush started last year, I (and probably most other gun owners) were already ahead of the game, having already gotten our hardware and built up a decent stock of ammunition. So, new guns aren't really a priority for me (although I wouldn't mind getting the scout squad version of the M1A), but ammunition is. And maybe an optics upgrade for one of my rifles.
But, for the most part, it's gone into savings towards a trip I'm making this fall through some of the southern states I grew up in.
have been very aware of many doing the same with their stimulus checks, have even been consulted by some first time firearm buyers in helping them with their firearm choices, I would have spent part of our stimulus on ammunition if any were available. Is there anything truly more American than investing in Freedom and Liberty ! It has done my heart good to see the 5.6 million first time gun buyers this past year, the only positive aspect of the pandemic. With these kind of numbers in firearm sales and the scarcity of ammo, it should be clear to the democrats that they do not have a "mandate" on gun control. (ps I did buy a new concealed carry holster)
Summary: H.R.127 — 117th Congress (2021-2022)All Information (Except Text)

Introduced in House (01/04/2021)
Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act
This bill establishes a process for the licensing and registration of firearms. It also prohibits the possession of certain ammunition and large capacity ammunition feeding devices.
First, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives must establish (1) a licensing system for the possession of firearms or ammunition, and (2) a registration system for firearms.
In addition, the Department of Justice (DOJ) must establish and maintain a publicly available database of all registered firearms.
Next, the bill creates licensing requirements for the possession of a firearm and ammunition. DOJ shall issue such a license if the individual is 21 years of age or older, undergoes a criminal background check and psychological evaluation, completes a certified training course, and has an insurance policy. It also outlines the circumstances under which DOJ must deny a license (e.g., the individual was hospitalized with a mental illness).
It also establishes additional requirements for an antique firearm display license and a military-style weapons license.
The bill generally prohibits and penalizes the possession of a firearm or ammunition unless the individual complies with licensing and registration requirements. Further, it prohibits the transfer of a firearm or ammunition to an unlicensed person.
Finally, it generally prohibits and penalizes (1) the possession of ammunition that is 0.50 caliber or greater, and (2) the possession of a large capacity ammunition feed device.

Love it!

It took 2 years for people to quit hoarding 22 cal ammo! Here we go, AGAIN!!
Sad that, during a time when the resources of the NRA are needed most, the organization is being destroyed by its own leadership.
