It makes me angry to hear how badly you were treated my your doctor. I’m a physician in Maryland. I’ve been seen patients in person since the pandemic started. I treat both vaccinated and unvaccinated patients with kindness. Patients should not be coerced into getting vaccinated and should be able to make informed decisions about their treatment.

It’s wrong that there are still doctors hiding behind their computer screens.

We’d welcome you at our practice.

Hi Emily, as I wrote in my Comment the other day, I am in Houston and my wife and I have been treated by Dr. Bowden. I think by now you have moved on from "Dr. Doom" and found someone else. In the summer of 2021, I went for my regular check with my allergy doctor of 10+ years. At that time, I had received two injections but hadn't been infected and I asked him about preparation in the event I got an infection. I specifically asked him about monoclonal antibodies (they were available then, but are not available now. I think FAUCI or his co-conspirators finally cut off the supply). Anyway, my doctor said he didn't even know what monoclonal antibodies were; I had to tell him and his reply was, "huh!" He then recommended I get the first booster (not only NO, but HELL NO!). I finished the appointment, did some research at FLCCC, and then set my first appointment with Dr. Bowden.

After my first consultation with Dr. Bowden I had all of my records from my allergy doctor sent to Dr. Bowden and I don’t plan to see the allergy doctor again! Not only did I find better care and information about the virus from Dr. Bowden, she did some tests my allergy doctor had never done and changed my allergy medication. Since then, my allergy syptoms are much better.

I mentioned in my comment the other day that my wife’s fever began dropping with a few hours of her first dose of Ivermectin. However, my wife began Ivermectin within 36 hours of her first symptoms. Also, she was doing a dilute iodine nasal rinse 2x daily and taking 100 mg of zinc citrate daily. She also eats a healthy diet (almost no processed food, very few sweets, lots of natural fiber, and a wide variety of nutritious foods every day (burdock, daikon, okra, tomatoes, dried seaweed, grilled fish, tofu, real yogurt, etc.). I really think her metabolic health contributed to her recovery in about six days.

This is great story and I'm glad you told it.

It's clear that neither Ivermectin nor Hydroxychloroquine are miracle drugs. There are some studies that suggest that work, but only on average, not on any given individual. I wouldn't say they "worked" on me, in that I took them but it's not clear I got better any sooner than I would have had I not taken them. My wife thinks that Ivermectin helped her a lot, and she got better far faster than I did. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The question of why there are such disparate reactions to the virus, whether the original Wuhan/Alpha strains, or Delta, or all the various Omicron variants, is a topic I have not seen addressed in any of the medical literature. One assumes it is exactly what you said, whether your body had any anti-bodies or previous experience with that particular illness or something similar. I was double-vaxxed and I was sick with a fever for 5 days, just like you. Being sick with a fever for 5 solid days is unique in my post-college experience. So it was "bad" in duration. But while I was miserable, it was not "bad" in intensity. I only got up to 102. I could have gotten a lot worse.

An unvaxxed friend of mine was laid out in bed for 12 solid days. His unvaxxed wife similarly. His unvaxxed daughter only a couple of days. Another unvaxxed friend was laid up for two weeks as well. (All omicron variants). My 87-year-old COPD-suffering vaxxed and boosted Mom had almost no symptoms except the cough, which, since she was in a nursing home, I could not treat properly. Was it the vaccine? Was it just random? I have no idea.

Some comments on your drugs, because you knew I wouldn't be able to resist:

* Neither Ivermectin nor Hydroxychloroquine interact with anything. A better strategy is to google "<Drug Name> Prescribing Instructions .pdf". Do this with Ivermectin and you'll get the first hit the PDR entry for the drug. Another result from pdr.net gives you a more detailed understanding. Note that they say, "Administer ivermectin tablets on an empty stomach with water." So, because I'm an idiot and don't follow my own advice, none of the ivermectin I've ever taken has been on an empty stomach, or taken with water. So maybe that's why it didn't work for me. But maybe you were taking it on an empty stomach with water?

* Don't take Advil (ibuprofen) or Aleve (naproxen) when you have covid. The fever helps destroy the virus, so don't fight the fever unless it becomes dangerously high. For me, that's around 102, after which I become delirious. YMMV. There were some initial studies that said Advil really hurts your immune response because your immune response *is* inflammation, and Advil and alive are primarily anti-inflammatory drugs. So by taking NSAIDs early in the course of the disease, you are disrupting your own immune response. (In later courses of the disease, if you get worse, anti-inflammatories are important, and in some cases, lifesaving, but not unless your SpO2 goes below 89. For anyone other than Emily reading here, be sure to have some prednisone on hand for the unlikely event you get really sick and your O2 sat drops. 0.67 mg/kg prednisone in the morning for 3-5 days. The alternative is going to the ER and that's almost worse than getting vaccinated these days.)

* Mucinex is good, just don't expect miracles.

* The bath helped because of the steam. Steam helps with cough. Something like this would have the same effect, though it's not as nice as a bath. If you had some budesonide, putting it in the steam machine would help extra: https://www.amazon.com/Vicks-Personal-V1200-Targeted-Congestion/dp/B0000TN7MY/r

* Azithromycin was probably a waste. The point was to prevent and/or stop a bacterial infection that might occur at the same time. You really need to have symptoms of a bacterial infection for this to do any good in a young healthy person like yourself.

* Benzonatate. Hah. None of these cough suppressants work. At all. They are stealing your money. The only cough suppressants that work are: 1) any opioid, though codeine cough syrup is the standard, though any opioid will do. 2) For covid cough only: gabapentin, because covid cough is a nerve-related cough not an inflammation-related cough. In my first go around with covid, I coughed for a month before I got this information. In my second round with covid (just around the time you had it), I coughed for 3 hours before I got it under control. 3) For many people, an albuterol inhaler will stop the cough, but probably only partially for covid because it works by stopping inflammation, not calming nerves.

* Nasal Mist: Use the NeilMed netipot or equivalent, double salt, plus budesonide. The nasal mist things are too little. You really need to dump lots of salt water into your nose. The more disgusting, the better.

* Aspirin: good choice. Use this instead of NSAIDs. Never together.

* Tylenol: YMMV, but for me it's a placebo. Might work against fever...?

* Zinc, Vitamin D, Vitamin C: all good. Get your serum vitamin D measured by a blood test (prescribed by some different ducking doctor lol). If it's over 60 you're fine, especially if you get a lot of sun.

* Thermometer: I hate those digital thermometers, they're never calibrated properly. Always go old-school mercury thermometers when it comes to taking temperatures. Unfortunately the communists that run the US have banned their manufacture, so you have to search around for them nowadays.

Thanks again for the articles!

What a journey you have been on since CHRISTmas ! Maybe I'm wrong, I suggest finding a new Doctor if their assistant has that much animosity to "medical modality's" other than what she/he/they have been told to say. . . and this kind of (BLEEP) behavior on top of you being VERY sick. This kind of treatment by so-called "medical professionals" should be taken to the Medical Board and seeing if they can be disciplined. Is it "Medical Pride" thinking they ALWAYS know what is best for us ?

I'm thankful to JESUS for watching over you Emily and protecting you from the possibility of interactions of the various items that you took to get better. Last year I had Hernia surgery. I was scheduled for February & got a call from the Hospital asking me various things about my health. When she asked about what meds/vitamins etc. I was taking I told her IVM she said: "Ohh so you are taking the horse medicine." I bit my tongue to avoid embarrassing her. The Surgeon postponed the Surgery because I had Covid symptom's but the PCR test said I was Covid free. They also knew my body was VERY weak from fighting Covid since I work around Covid positive people 40-60 hours a week and still do to this day.

I love your words here my friend:

"As I drove, I had to roll down my car window and spit phlegm into the streets. Ladylike" Not sure what makes a spit ladylike or manlike. . . . it might make a great YouTube video one day. ha

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." --> Proverbs 17:22

By the way, the nurse practitioner acted like an ass. I have no use for medical providers like that.

By the way, I know "Dr Kent" is a made up name, but is he the one you saw through MyFreeDoctor?

“My doctor refused care because he just didn’t like what I was prescribed by another physician.”

How is this not a total violation of the Hippocratic Oath? Have no respect for these dolts any longer. Think I noted in an earlier thread I got thrown out of a docs office in BH for being unjabbed. I was obviously a “nonconformist”, a “rebel” & “watched Fox News.”

Intended to be pejoratives but I’ll wear them as badges of honor. ;<)

Lost my almost finished comment again - don't know what I am doing to cause it?!? I get IVM in the 3mg tablets at HEB - a Texas based family owned chain - I mentioned them to you a few months back as a possible source for Mary Bowden. My theory is a locally owned pharmacy will probably carry it - no bosses above to tell them they can't!!! My go to source for what is happening in the china virus world is the FLCCC https://covid19criticalcare.com/treatment-protocols/i-prevent-protect/ They have tons of info of all sorts. The two main Drs Marik and Korry have been at the front of the anti vax movement since the beginning. FLCCC has a webinar every Wednesday at 6 ET on zoom. following is the link for tonite that they sent me - usually you are signed up and they send it every week. I watch rvery week and rarely have tuned out as I wasn't interested. Also some personal stories are presented. Totally worth my while!!!

I’m disappointed at hearing a medical professional treated you with disdain. Does your county/state have an agency in which you can file a complaint? That is unacceptable.

Another thought I’d like to share- if you aren’t already doing so, start getting physicals every year . You’ll start to build your body’s chemical baseline. You will know know things like your body’s normal White and red cell count, liver function, iron, etc...

Like all of us, the very first time you get hit squarely in the face with illness, you don’t see coming- you think ‘where did that come from? I’m bulletproof?’ Then it hits...getting older is a bitch.

I still can't figure out or get an explanation about how an antibiotic (azithromycin) is effective against a virus.

Slightly off topic...me being born in August of 1966, and with the empathetic sensitivity I possess, I suspect that the assassinations of both Martin Luther King Jr and Robert Fitzgerald Kennedy in 1968, along with the domestic disruption of the relationship between my mother and father as marriage was failing triggered the already innate Schizoaffective disorder and Asperger's syndrome in me. Family history of mental illness so part genetic, part physiological, part environmental...not to mention the cultural shitstorm thanks to the Vietnam War and the other hyperpolitical activity... I can assess that the late James Earl Ray, The late Loyd what's his face, and the Sirhan Sirhan subhuman...these have a shared responsibility for the near continual shitshow my life has been since January of 1968. My emotions run a gamut from grief to anger. Superficially I would wish to urinate on Sirhan. However I could also give that Richard cranium John Hinckley Jr like treatment, which he deserves because he's the impetus for the James Brady NICS list. It would not serve much of any noble purpose. And this current era...flaming shitstorm continued because of the lunatic activists whose cerebrum have been turned to a substance worse then cornmeal mush and tapioca. Now back to the medical thing... I took control and the physicians that treat me know quite well that I take no heat nor grief from them, and that if they make me experience so much as a scintilla of annoyance I chew ass and use my figurative Mjolnir...The Hanmer of Thor.

“You’re unvaccinated, and those who are vaccinated have milder symptoms,” said my doctor’s assistant, looking directly at me on video for the first time.

Is there ANY proof this is the case? Shaming you is just awful. Time to find a new practice.

I left a new PCP about 6-7 years ago after she tried insisting I get a Flu shot as well as an AIDS TEST to “establish a baseline”. She was a teaching professor at a prestigious Chicago university as well.

MD doesn’t always equate to common sense.

I do not have civil language for the way your primary care team treated you. Violation of the Oath of Hippocrates there.

Unfortunately the possibility of you having the so called Long COVID exists. I respectfully encourage you to research this and take mitigation measures..

I wish that I would acquire this scourge so I can get it done. Although with me having diabetes type 2 and using medications for multiple medical conditions I bet it will be a challenge. Bring it...make my decade.
