What a crock of crap! Everyone has to follow gun safety rules at all times. Baldwin will get off with a slap on the wrist. I hope he’s convicted and jailed so he can think about his actions. I am sick of all these actors who blame everyone for their mistakes and then get off with no consequences for their actions.

It really is a question about how live rounds were available on set. The armorer could have known she loaded blank ammunition in the firearm because usually blank ammunition and live ammunition are distinctive from each other... blank ammunition usually has a crimped point to show that the round only has a powder charge and does not have a solid projectile in the round. Unfortunately without seeing the evidence for myself I am unsure. As to whoever actually loaded the live round...chain of custody of the firearm is in question. It seems that since the police will not willingly determine the chain of custody of the firearm completely, the question of who put the live round in will not be immediately answered.

I do believe that the person who brought live ammo to the set should be investigated further.

Makes no difference where it came from, tho it needs to investigate it, but the user of the gun, Baldwin has a responsibility to ensure it is safe to use.

The TMZ Weapons Safety video Emily linked was very enlightening! The dummy rounds I have made, have no primer at all. Some people have mistakenly thought that a round with a dimpled primer was safe to use as a dummy, but I have a gun with a weak mainspring that sometimes fails to fire on the first strike, leaving a dimpled primer, but fires if I pull the trigger again. (It works every time with Federal ammo!) The only way I know to get a dimpled primer is to load a standard primer into a case and fire it, or use fired live ammo, since I have never seen new dimpled dummy primers for sale. The video also explains the "shaking" idea, where dummy ammo can be identified by two rattle BBs inserted into the dummy case during assembly instead of live powder which makes no sound when shaken; I will start doing this!

Timeline:

1) Months before Rust started filming, David Halls got LIVE ammo from Reed's father and kept the ammo can that Reed's father had put the ammo into. This is from what you reported earlier. How many rounds were in this ammo can: 5, 25, 50, 150, 250 rounds ? An ammo can WILL hold more than the standard box which holds 50 rounds. Reed's father would testify he gave Hall's LIVE ammo.

2) Rust begins and various people on the set use a REAL gun to shoot LIVE ammo. Where did this ammo come from ? Was it the ammo that Halls was given by Reed's father ? 45 Long Colt is NOT cheap in comparison to .22 long rifle. Members of the Rust set were upset they were not getting paid on time etc. which would mean, they probably didn't go out and buy the ammo once Rust started with some even quitting. Did some of the disgruntled employees have a motive against Reed, her father, Hall's or A.B. ?

3) Halyna has a "SAFETY TALK" about the carelessness of the members on the set the morning of the shooting. Why would Halyna have this safety talk UNLESS LIVE rounds were being fired that she saw & heard ? Where did this LIVE ammo come from that people on the set were shooting, which prompted Halyna's Safety talk ? We don't know if the DA spoke to ALL the people who were on the set, including those who quit or got fired.

4) We don't know what Hall's told the DA but the DA apparently believed that Hall's was more believable than Reed or A.B. However, did the DA ask Hall's if he ever brought LIVE ammo on the set ? There are LOTS of questions that should have been asked of Hall's, but were they ? Did Hall's have a motive against Reed, her father or A.B. ?

5) How did Reed not see the ammo she loaded was not LIVE ammo ? How much time lapsed between the time Reed loaded the gun and then she gave the gun to Hall's and then Hall's gave it to A.B. ? A wheel gun, can be dumped of its ammo and speed loaded in less than 15 seconds ! A video showing this is below.

Which was plenty of time for Hall's to empty the gun of the ammo that Reed put in and then Hall's used a speed loader to reload it. Most .45 Long Colt pistols are 6 cylinder revolver's. Did Hall's check the ammo BEFORE he gave it to A.B. ? He may have said he did, but did he ?

Yes, A.B. pulled the trigger and is 99% responsible. But what if A.B. was "set-up" by an angry Employee ? Reloading a revolver with a Speed Loader is the video below:

Why is the DA not investigating ALL of the questions, we have raised for over a year ?

In reading comments on this topic, I have NEVER seen the type of revolver that was used identified.

Was it a SAA reproduction?

Was it a DA look alike?

They function differently. They load differently.
