I saw your first test results and I have some pretty big news: the "T" is for Twins! Congratulations!

But seriously, I'm glad you're doing better, Emily.

I was not vaccinated and still am not. 70 years old. Caught COVID first time in 2021. Cough, somewhat tired, fever, lost sense of taste/smell after a few days. No effect on lungs. Got Ivermectin and had monoclonal anti-bodies. COVID lasted about 5 days. Fever climbed to 104.2, broke, and that was the end of it. Taste/smell came back about a week later. Tylenol for the fever (made big difference), Vitamin C, D, zinc, melatonin, aspirin (to prevent blood clots), and bio-quercetin (protects the heart).

Second time was some months later. Much milder, fever climbed to around 101, with cough, energy was a little low. Lasted about 4 days. Never lost taste or smell. No effect on lungs. No special treatment. Just continued use of Vitamin C, D, zinc, melatonin, aspirin (to prevent blood clots), and bio-quercetin (protects the heart).

Third time was in 2022, cough, sneezing, low-grade fever, not much loss of energy. Gone in 3 days. No special treatment. Vitamin C, D, zinc, melatonin, aspirin (to prevent blood clots), and bio-quercetin (protects the heart). No effect on lungs. Low-grade fever was allowed to run its course as it was doing its job of killing the virus while not really being any kind of danger.

Yeah, second time around is always shorter. I'm trying not to infect Sharon, but we'll see how that goes...

Of course I spoke too soon. Last night the covid symptoms started, even though I had a negative PCR test yesterday afternoon. So I have covid again. I guess I just want to keep up with the Millers.

I didn't last as long as you but made it around 2 years, unvaccinated, worked through the lockdowns, all of my vaccinated coworkers had it once or twice...then I finally got it. Thankfully mine was a very mild case which lasted just a couple of days of sleeping on and off and feeling sore. My Wife came down with it a few days later and was more like you with it lasting over a week, a fever that would not break and lingering minor symptoms for probably another week. I do feel that everyone will eventually get it at this point given all of the variants etc but hopefully we will not see the more serious cases and certainly hope the world learned some lessons from the insane lockdowns. Glad you are better. Happy New Year!!

I had experienced COVID once, with the mildest of symptoms.

Glad you are over it and got through it with no issues.

I had it last March. The worst symptom I had was a sore throat and it didn't seem to improve after 4 days. A good friend and academy classmate is an RN and she asked if I had hydrogen peroxide in the house. She said to try gargling with it (diluted with water) and see what happens. I did so before I went to bed and the next morning my sore throat was completely gone.

I barely had a fever for a day or two but felt lousy for a few weeks. I kept expecting other symptoms to develope, like smell/taste issues but had none of them. The first week or so I was fatigued and it was the worst for about the first 4 days.

I'm waiting to hear about Dr Kent. I still have not gotten myself a doctor down here and have looked into buying ivermectin but don't trust some of the stuff I see out there that's for sale.

When I left NY I inquired with my doctor up there and he said NY doctor's were prohibited from prescribing it. In fact, the NY Attorney General was sending threatening letters to non-NY based doctor's who were prescribing it to NY patients (even if they were licensed in NY). I had told you about that and emailed you a copy of the letter.

I'd still like to keep ivermectin on hand but don't know the best way to get it.

My wife and I are vaccinated and 3x boosted. We’re 71 and 67 years old. We haven’t had Covid but have been exposed several times over the past 3 years, including by our daughter and her family who stayed with us for 3 days during Christmas 2021. They were all positive 5 hours after leaving our house and I’m still surprised we didn’t get it. My wife is certain we’ll get it eventually. I’m convinced we won’t.

Glad you’re feeling better. You were talking about off the expectations and I thought of this story. ZdoggMD interviewed a Family Practice Doc who got COVID (post Omicron variant). She was frightened and the friend, who was an ID doc, said it was would be “No worse than a bad case of the flu.” She was floored for two weeks and among the sickest she had ever been. She yelled at her friend afterwards who looked at her blankly and said,”I’m an Infectious Disease Doc. The flu kills 40,000 people a year. That’s what I meant. What did you think I meant?” It reminds me to always check the context and the background of someone who says,”It’s no worse than…” to make sure we have the same measurement system. 😂

I considered myself in the same category, thinking I was resistant to the Wuhan virus but then I got it almost a year ago. It was like a weird cold for me. Only achy for the first day or two and not severely so. Changed my sense of taste for awhile - maybe a week after it ran its course, which was maybe 5 or 6 days.

Hope you are feeling better!

My wife, daughter, and I all got COVID in June 2022. We were all vaccinated and boosted once as my wife and daughter have immune system issues. It felt like a really bad flu. Like with all viral illnesses, my daughter got over it in about 2 days, I took about a week, and my wife something like 2-3 weeks.

I do seem to have some minor lingering symptoms. I still clear my throat more often than I did pre-COVID. Also, I might have actually developed a food allergy or some type of digestive issue. I seem to be somewhat lactose intolerant now, when I wasn't before. My digestive system just doesn't handle dairy as well as it did pre-COVID.

I’m in day 2 currently. I’m unvaccinated and was positive I was immune. I am an essential worker. I all but made out with Covid positive people and in 1 case I did (my husband was positive before it was cool). Just like my pregnancies I took several tests because I didn’t believe the positive result. I just feel like I have a cold but more of “a man cold” so worse than my normal colds. So far eating ice cream in the tub is helping.
