Listen now | Narrated version about the first days of Hannah Gutierrez-Reed's trial for the shooting on the "Rust" movie set and who's to blame for the live ammunition
Didn't the FBI say that there were not her fingerprints found on the gun? Does anyone else feel that she is a total scapegoat. She doesn't have the power or the fame to have done it. If she was really that stupid or sloppy, this would have been decided a year ago.
I also think she is a scapegoat and that's what I explained in more depth in the audio version. Powerful lawyers, state, PR blamed her from the beginning with false rumors that stuck in the public's mind about her. Hopefully the jury didn't make up its mind before the trial.
I was typing away and the whole paragraph disappeared, so I'm going to try again. I really hope that she gets a fair trial. Those rumors that he planted will probably be used as fact in the trial. It's technique that has been used effectively many times before.
I'm sorry for any tech problems on Substack. I don't think the rumors can be used in trial unless a witness is caught starting them! We know so far that the Rust producers had a lawyer on set before the sheriff's office even got there.
I like trial reports as often as you want to report them, preferably daily. I never listen to the audio version because it takes too long. And if I miss a word in audio, it is difficult to back up and listen to it again (which does not always even help, I do this on TV frequently which greatly annoys my wife), but it is very easy and takes no time to glance back while reading.
BTW, the "leave a comment" in this article email links to the Matthew Perry article; the others correctly link to the Baldwin article/audio.
Thanks so much for al this feedback! I can't figure out why that comments button wasn't working -- but I just replaced it and it should be working now. I must have missed a bunch of comments from that, so I appreciate the help.
Were you able to use the survey button about the audio versions?
Yes, the survey button worked, but gave only limited choices. The survey itself should have a place to enter comments, not necessarily for public viewing, although I did not see one.

How often…as you hear relevant info.
Do you think we will know…yes
Do you think the prosecution…no
That's so helpful, thank you! I'm not sure we will get to the bottom of the live ammo, but it would be interesting and change the course of the trial.
Were you able to use the link to the survey on audio versions?
I did not hit the link. I was in the airport when I replied.

Substack just introduced this survey feature and doesn’t include comments. Feel free to comment anywhere else! The survey stays open.
I don't it was a tech problem. It probably was an IO (idiot operator) problem. I bet they were doing really sneaky stuff.
