Unvaccinated and never had COVID - unlike Joe Biden
President's divisive and hateful rhetoric to push the vaccine was wrong
When I heard that Pres. Biden got COVID, my first instinct was to gloat. So, here it is: I have never been vaccinated and never had COVID.
And, unlike the president, I don’t live in a bubble with everyone around me getting tested to protect against infecting me. I go to gyms and restaurants and crowded events and only wear masks when required.
In contrast, Biden is — in his words — “double vaccinated and double boosted” and isolated at the White House with his raspy voice. He claims he has “mild” symptoms but is taking Paxlovid.
After taking a victory lap with my excellent health and immune system, I thought of how Biden has spent the past year and a half deliberately stirring up hate and fear against those of us who chose not to get vaccinated. And then I got angry.
What other group would it be considered okay for the President of the United States to bully and demonize?
(All the links below are stories I’ve written on this all along.)
The president said we are to blame for the “pandemic of the unvaccinated.” He told Americans that the unvaccinated are “lazy” and defying their “patriotic duty”. Even worse, Biden said we were a direct threat: “Your decision to be unvaccinated impacts someone else.”
He basically called us killers last summer:
Unvaccinated people spread the virus. They get sick and fill up our hospitals. And that means if someone else has a heart attack or breaks a hip, there may not be a hospital bed for them.
If you’re unvaccinated, you put your doctor and nurses at risk — the same frontline, essential workers who put their lives on the line over the past year and have gone through hell.
In December, he said we were all basically gonna die and take our loved ones with us.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm.
He told the unvaccinated that Omicron was so dangerous that:
You're at a high risk of getting sick. And if you get sick, you're likely to spread it to others including friends and family.
None of that was true. But that kind of hateful rhetoric drove the Scared Vaccinated — a term I created to describe those who are angry and mean to the unvaccinated — to treat us like violent criminals.
Below are some of the tweets I’ve been subject to since Biden started rallying and bullying the unvaccinated. If you are on Twitter, you can click through these and comment on them directly.
Dr. Peter Hotez, a self-declared “vaccine scientist”:
“Republican” pollster Frank Luntz said I’m a child killer:
Actress Patricia Arquette also said I’m killing kids but, and we are uninsured and hospitalized:
Professor Jeff Jarvis blamed me for his hospitalized father in Florida:
This MSNBC producer who has 1.3 million followers on Twitter called me a dangerous liar:
A worker’s rights lawyer said I’m going to kill others:
An ER doctor!
There are thousands more of these, but you get my point.
Biden’s video address today was supposed to convince the public that he wasn’t very sick...
