This is a community for help and comfort across the globe.* Each of us individually cannot keep up with the emails/texts/calls, but a community of shared information and encouragement is a way to have direct contact between people trapped in Afghanistan and Americans in the U.S.
If you’re in Afghanistan — Comment below about your situation if you are able. What do you need? What are your concerns? ** Please do not use your real name so the Taliban cannot identify you. We know you are in hiding and do not want to put you in any more danger. Each time you visit this website, delete the browser history on your phone.
To those in America — Please consider posting a comment to the people reading this about how you feel about their terrible situation. Also, if you have the time, reply directly to their questions to make it easier to find the public information for the State Department and the private rescue groups. I have posted all that information in two links, which are below.

That's so nice ,
Please help me and my with too, I am an SIV Applicant with COM Approval, highly depressed and stressed hiding in Afghanistan plus high starvation
The flights have started from Afghanistan to Qatar, they pull out SIVs to Qatar
I am kindly requesting to please assist me and add me Into the evacs list , and save us out of this scary situation
Thank you so much
Many of you are aware the Taliban blocked all the US evacuation flights from Doha this week. I asked the State Department about it. That's in my new story today here: https://www.emilypostnews.com/p/american-father-trapped-in-afghanistan
I am going to change the name of the link above to the private rescue groups from "rescue" because they are not doing the evacuations anymore. I just wanted to be transparent.
Emily, the efforts have not stopped. Even though it seems like some of the people who were leading the charge have opted instead to favor photo ops and talking points, the rest of us are still engaged. I've got a GoFundMe up for this very purpose. Please check out our updates if you are interested. https://tinyurl.com/26rxarsr
I want to share some amazing news with you Emily and all those who struggle finding hope. My dear friend (SIV) has made it out of Afghanistan with his pregnant wife and 2 year old daughter. They are now in San Diego, CA. His journey is a story that needs to be told. What makes it so unique is that he was able to transfer his SIV case to Pakistan, completed the process, and then flew from Pakistan into the US. He received NO help from the state department or any of the veteran’s organizations. He flew straight into the US without going to a third country or having to stay in a refugee/resettlement camp. However, I’m scared he might now slip through the cracks. He is kind of on his own and can’t apply for help from programs like Airbnb.org unless he is sponsored by a refugee group. The problem is he isn’t really a refugee; he is a SIV holder. Emily - please consider interviewing him. I think his story needs to be shared. I think he can provide inspiration to others and maybe unlock the path to siv resettlement for himself and others in his shoes.
FROM STATE DEPARTMENT -- Afghanistan Relocation and Resettlement Update
12/13/2021 10:03 AM EST
Since August 31, the State Department has continued its around-the-clock efforts to relocate U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents currently in Afghanistan who want to depart, as well as Afghan allies who worked with us over the course of our 20-year military mission in Afghanistan and their families. As Secretary Blinken has said, there is no deadline for this work, which at the State Department is led by the Coordinator for Afghan Relocation Efforts, Ambassador Beth Jones.
This update provides the latest on the U.S. government’s relocation and resettlement efforts.
Since August 31, the United States has directly assisted 479 American Citizens and 450 lawful permanent residents to depart Afghanistan and relocate to the United States. The State Department is currently in touch with fewer than a dozen U.S. citizens who want to leave Afghanistan, are prepared to depart, and have the necessary travel documents.
Additionally, through Operation Allies Welcome, the State Department continues to relocate our Afghan allies who worked with us and their families. These include more than 2,200 Afghans, many of whom are special immigrant visa holders, as well as SIV applicants who have Chief of Mission (COM) approval, a step required by the Afghan Allies Protection Act of 2009.
Since taking office, the Biden administration has surged resources and taken significant steps to accelerate processing of Afghans, including SIV applicants. As a result, the State Department has issued more than 8,200 SIVs since January 20, and continues to process SIV applications daily.
With the support of Congress, veterans’ organizations, faith leaders, and countless civic organizations, the American people are upholding our commitment to our Afghan allies who worked with us over the last two decades in Afghanistan. The Administration is providing funding to support resettlement for up to 95,000 individuals relocated from Afghanistan and entering the United States through Operation Allies Welcome through the current fiscal year.
Individuals relocated from Afghanistan undergo a rigorous and multilayered screening and vetting process prior to their arrival in the United States and undergo additional screening at their Port of Entry, led by the Department of Homeland Security. They are required to receive critical vaccinations.
The United States has welcomed more than 74,000 Afghans through Operation Allies Welcome to date, providing them with support and assistance as they begin their new lives in the United States – and we are prepared to welcome additional qualifying Afghans over the coming weeks and months as capacity allows, including the approximately 3,000 individuals who are at overseas transit locations for processing to come to the United States. More than 38,000 Afghans, American citizens, and lawful permanent residents have been relocated from military bases in the United States (“safe havens”) to their new communities across the country.
More than 40 percent of the Afghans who have come to the United States are eligible for SIVs because they worked for or on behalf of the U.S. government in Afghanistan or our coalition partners, at significant risk to themselves, or they are the immediate family member of someone who did. Some are SIV applicants who were already in the SIV pipeline. Others are eligible but had never applied. Many additional Afghans are family members of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, or they worked as journalists, human rights activists, humanitarian or development workers, or for the former Afghan government.
Office of the Spokesperson
The below is attributable to Spokesperson Ned Price:
Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. The Secretary commended Qatar for its continued work to assist with the safe transit from Afghanistan of U.S. citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents, and Afghans at risk
I know how serious things are for food and shelter now in Afghanistan. The state Department spokesman was asked today about getting more humanitarian aid delivered. Link to read here https://www.state.gov/briefings/department-press-briefing-december-6-2021/
God bless you.
This season we have in December... for many it can be a time of festivity. While Afghanistan remains under the thrall of the Deobandit Talibandits who decline to recognize the individual right to diversity of faith and practices of the people within its borders, the joy you might desire is within your own selves and within your own hearts. Remember, these atrocious excuses for subhuman beings can only damage your bodies; your eternal souls and spirits are another dimension which are untouchable by the whims of man. True, your plight is not currently in the news cycle, however, your perseverance is what is going to help you realize your goals. God hears your plight. We in the United States will remember you too. It will not be easily erased. Meantime, if you can have even one fully festive meal as you like, it will go long in your hearts and memories. God has you in His heart, and that is what matters to the upmost.
The State Department just released this statement with other countries listed.
Joint Statement on Reports of Summary Killings and Enforced Disappearances in Afghanistan
12/04/2021 06:38 PM EST
The text of the following statement was released initially by the Governments of the United States of America, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, the European Union, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine.
We are deeply concerned by reports of summary killings and enforced disappearances of former members of the Afghan security forces as documented by Human Rights Watch and others.
We underline that the alleged actions constitute serious human rights abuses and contradict the Taliban’s announced amnesty. We call on the Taliban to effectively enforce the amnesty for former members of the Afghan security forces and former Government officials to ensure that it is upheld across the country and throughout their ranks.
Reported cases must be investigated promptly and in a transparent manner, those responsible must be held accountable, and these steps must be clearly publicized as an immediate deterrent to further killings and disappearances.
We will continue to measure the Taliban by their actions.
State Department readout of the U.S. Meeting with Taliban Representatatives in link here -- https://www.state.gov/u-s-delegation-meeting-with-taliban-representatives/
For those in Afghanistan trying to get out, nothing new for you, but this is start of direct communication with Taliban, which is the way to get back commercial flights or deal on land route, in my opinion.
There is information about humanitarian efforts to get you food and necessities for winter and human rights too. I'm sorry it's taking this long to fix the mess.

I am writing on behalf of an Afghan soldier and his wife who desperately need to be evacuated. He was employed by US Forces, and they are killing all the "slaves to America". My friends are in hiding and afraid to reach on any media. We are communicating via the Signal app for security purposes. They need to get in touch with his team for employment verification purposes, to apply for an SIV. I have tried contacting 7th Special Forces Group, but so far, have had no response. Do you know how to get employment verification for our Allies still stuck in Afghanistan? Thank you
Sec. of State Blinken today on people left behind in Afghanistan:
American citizens: "As of November 10th, all U.S. citizens who have requested assistance from the United States Government to depart Afghanistan --and who have identified as prepared to depart and having the necessary travel documents -- have been offered an opportunity to do so. That includes more than 380 American citizens and more than 280 legal permanent residents whose departure we have already facilitated."
He doesn't answer this: HOW MANY AMERICAN CITIZENS ARE STILL IN AFGHANISTAN?
On SIV: Qatar will "facilitate the travel of Afghans with U.S. Special Immigrant Visas" and serve as a transit point for eligible Afghans as they complete their application process.
The U.S. Department of State is having a Virtual online Town Hall for Afghanistan Resettlement Stakeholders today (11/9) at 1:30 p.m. ET.
“The event will provide the growing community of Americans working to support the resettlement of our Afghan allies with inter-agency updates.” More information and how to register here:
I think and pray for all you in Afghanistan and hate hearing that the food is running out and it's getting so cold. I have not forgotten our country left you behind. I still have hope that our government wil find a way to get you out of there. I know it's going too long now but please keep hope since we are still trying to get them to save you. God bless.
Regretfully I have not heard any current updates on the evac. I hope that you all still have hope.

A bunch of human rights groups sent a letter to White House with demands for Afghanistan. Some good ideas in it for solutions moving forward.

The State Department announced more humanitarian aid directly to people in Afghanistan through certain groups. Try to get in contact with these groups for aid. I pasted the key section below:
As part of our enduring commitment to the people of Afghanistan, the United States announced today nearly $144 million in humanitarian assistance to those affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis. This assistance brings the total U.S. humanitarian aid in Afghanistan and for Afghan refugees in the region to nearly $474 million in 2021, the largest amount of assistance from any nation.
This assistance is provided directly to independent humanitarian organizations, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), International Organization for Migration (IOM), the World Health Organization (WHO), and other international and non-governmental organizations following extensive vetting and monitoring.
This funding provides support directly to some of the more than 18 million vulnerable Afghans in need in the region, including Afghan refugees in neighboring countries. It will enable our partners to provide lifesaving protection, food security support, essential health care, winterization assistance, logistics, and emergency food aid, in response to the growing humanitarian needs exacerbated by healthcare shortages, COVID-19, drought, malnutrition, and the impending winter.
To be clear, this humanitarian assistance will benefit the people of Afghanistan and not the Taliban, whom we will continue to hold accountable for the commitments they have made.
Good article. It's a very small number but any move in the right direction - we'll take. Thank God for those getting things done.
Have hope SIV'S !
I've heard from several people that Americans are telling Afghans they can rescue them but getting them in more danger. Plus, I'm hearing of Afghans getting messages to go to places to get rescued by an American group and it's a trick by the Taliban. So I updated this guide with more things to ask to vet any private rescue group.
Also, Americans who consider donating to any group may want to look at the list and consider asking the same questions. I don't want to see Americans giving money to groups who haven't rescued anyone.
I am neglecting my commitment to try to encourage you all on a regular basis. My apologies. My feelings regarding the Deobandi Islam adherents and other people groups tend to have me regard them as various poisonous and dangerous animals who are way beyond the lowest form of life on Earth. According to Ronald Lee Ermey in the character of Gunny Hartmann on Full Metal Jacket, whom I agree with in some ways, these people groups might not be human fornicating beings, but are rather slimy unorganized grabasstic pieces of amphibian excrement that stain the loin coverings in the crotch area of certain abomination figures such as the current executive dictators of the People's Republic of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, with a large helping of Vladimir Putin and his KGB honed cranium. That being said, the enemy are like cobras...not to be charmed except by the experts who can avoid the strike and bite. I also must say that those in the United States who would cater to these totalitarian theocratic idol worshippers fit the characteristics I describe as well. However, God, and the Peoples of the Book, will ultimately prevail over the enemy. It is going to be long-suffering in endurance. Keep your minds sharp. Keep your hearts concealed when you can. Keep your minds sharp. However, you out there know best how since I'm unaware of your access to mind strengthening resources. We here in the United States will keep you in hearts and minds. Be good
Our true rescue from all evil!
10/17/21- State Dept. Office of the Spokesperson. The below is attributable to Spokesperson Ned Price:
Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani about Afghanistan. Secretary Blinken thanked Qatar for its strong partnership on regional security issues and assistance to safely transit U.S. citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents, and Afghans at risk.
10/15/21 -- State Department press briefing
Ned Price was asked about Qatar saying it had a large flight arrive from Afghanistan yesterday. He would not comment directly. He was also asked why no Americans were on that flight. He didn't respond.
He was also asked about whether family members other than children and spouses may be allowed to come join Afghans in the U.S. He said the State Department was following immigration laws.
I've posted some of his comments that may affect you below. The link to the transcript/video is at the end.
"We’ve been working and we’ve been in constant touch with Americans and others in Afghanistan who have expressed a desire to leave. Most recently, there was a charter flight with Americans on board on October 11th. It was a Qatar Airways charter flight. In total, at least 129 U.S. citizens and 115 lawful permanent residents have departed Afghanistan with our assistance since August 31st. That is to say these departures were facilitated by the United States either with a charter flight or, in some cases, an overland transfer."
"Our goal, as we discussed at some length yesterday, is to see to it that these – in the first instance, these charter flight operations become more routine, that they garner a degree of automaticity in terms of their frequency and their cadence. We are continuing to work closely with our partners, including our Qatari partners, including our Pakistani partners, to facilitate these flights and to see to it that Americans and others to whom we have a special commitment are able to be on these flights. And we will continue to report our progress when it comes to that."
"we have been clear that our first priority in terms of support is always going to be to American citizens. We’ve also made clear the priority we attached to lawful permanent residents and to Afghans to whom we have a special commitment."
"When it comes to family members, this is a question that in some ways is governed by the Immigration and Nationality Act. It is written into statute the assistance that – to whom we’re able to provide some of these forms of assistance. So all of our operations need to be consistent with the Immigration and Nationality Act, which allows us to provide similar services to American citizens and their dependents. And dependents is defined not by us; it is defined in statute written by Congress.
So I would make the point that our operations have to comport with the INA even as we are continuing our efforts to prioritize support to American citizens, LPRs, and to Afghans to whom we have a special commitment. And that will be ongoing."
Another day here. More treachery most likely from many. I can only respectfully try to encourage you by asking you all to keep your focus on the conclusion of this endurance program. Keep looking at your prize for your patience through suffering. You will need to set your minds to out endure the opponents of all sorts. The important things in life are simple. The simple things are hard. The easy ways are always mined. Murphy's Law of Combat sayings here but very true throughout the ages. Another one is no combat ready unit has ever passed inspection. The last one for this one is no operation plan survives the first contact intact. As Clint Eastwood says in Heartbreak Ridge, Improvise, Adapt, Overcome.
Dear Miss Warner
I appreciate your sympathetic words
Actually I have worked with Americans from 2015 till recent time
I have learned alot, as my experience with the Americans, taught me alot, they are and the were so good with us, their state of mind, working, talking everything, but I really dont know that why is the government being calm at such stage where its allies are abandoned in such situations
Really cant believe this and still hopeful
WE NEED ASSISTANCE PLZ
I appreciate your sympathy and your nice words, we are really hoping of getting out of here ASAP,
We were promised that we will be taken out
I believe all the applicants and everyone's lives matter, but me, I really worked along with the Americans proudly, have helped alot, have learned alot from them, but the conclusions putting us abandoned in Afghanistan in such situations, where we have nothing, we are scared of our relatives, friends even from the trusted ones here bc everyone knows that I was employed and was working with the Americans, plus me I dont belong to a rich and wealthy family I was the only person in my family having a paid job, all our saving money has already gone, no working possibilities for us, no income, no money, really cant explain how hard it is at the moment for us, we are really suffering anxiety and depression of being in such hard situations
Its really hard to tolerate
AT LEAST WANT TO BE PULLED OUT OF AFGHANISTAN TO ANYWHERE, WE WILL WAIT THEN
My gratitude I extend to my brothers and sisters in the British Armed Forces and to Her Majesty Government for their commendable initiatives to assist those who wish to emigrate from the oppression of the Deobandi perversion of Islam and those who adhere to that abominable praxis.
Make sure to read or watch the State Dept briefing today because you'll see exactly what the State department does and does NOT (which is most everything except tell Americans they can board the planes) https://www.state.gov/briefings/department-press-briefing-october-14-2021/
The British Air Force are sending planes to neighboring country to rescue interpreters. If anyone served with UK in the coalition, try to get on their rescue flights! All I know is in this article
We thank you for all of your help assisting our troops and government over many many years. As an American and I speak for many, we THANK you greatly! We are struggling to understand as you are as well that our government put you all in harm for bad decisions they made.
We pray for you all for safety for your families and that you will be able to be rescued.
God sees the pain and fear and danger you are in and He wants you to call out to him!
A wonderful website for encouragement and live 24/hour prayer available
Someone can pray with you!
You are never alone.
Thanks for sharing this kind of good news, i hope we will get positive result, is there any possible way that we can share our concerns directly with her or her office about Evacuation and Relocation? If yes please share the point of contact(email address or Twitter).
It is not axceptable for us that corupted people should be deployed to Afghanistan and Qatar to take the Charge of Evacuationcand Relocation process.
Please emphasis that for upcoming evacuation plan the priority should be SIV cases.
I am an Afghan woman Gulalay Arabzai from USAID /ADA. I am sending this email to seek you kind attention for enrolling me as one of the Principle Applicants for the current evacuation program considered for The US Government Allies.
During the past fifth years of my career in working with USAID/ ADA, I have always worked in high risk provinces including Laghman, Mazar e Shareef, Nagarhar and as well as Kabul.
During my past working carrier, I have been visibly pointed as an ally to the US Government who is supporting US missions in Afghanistan, I am highly concerned and finding myself to be in an immediate risk due the recent changes in the structure of the Afghan Government. I can't trust the people within the geographical location where I belong to, as they will easily communicate my information and location to taliban which would certainly result in taking us to death. Therefore, I am finding the lives of myself and my family in an immediate risk after the evacuation of the US For an immidiate evacuation plan.
I registered with SVI but so far I have not found any answer
P2 applicants are not able to travel to 3rd country due to so many challenges at this times. They face to lack of financial capacity, lack of passport and travelling to unknown 3rd country is not eassy for afghan families without any pre-coordination with another country or any approved letter or facility from USG.
Please consider SIV cases in priority this time
I just got this email from the state department. I think this is good news that diplomatic solutions starting.
The below is attributable to Spokesperson Ned Price:
“On October 9 and 10, an interagency delegation traveled to Doha, Qatar to meet with senior Taliban representatives. The U.S. delegation focused on security and terrorism concerns and safe passage for U.S. citizens, other foreign nationals and our Afghan partners, as well as on human rights, including the meaningful participation of women and girls in all aspects of Afghan society. The two sides also discussed the United States’ provision of robust humanitarian assistance, directly to the Afghan people. The discussions were candid and professional with the U.S. delegation reiterating that the Taliban will be judged on its actions, not only its words.”
More then 10 thousands SIV applicants have left behind with strong and Approved documents of SIV in our
hands in this critical situation in Afghanistan,
All the street people,
All the prisoners,
All the taxi drivers,
All the looters,
All the killers,
All the shooters,
All the shopkeepers,
All the MOI&NDS guys have
evacuated by bribes and has
charged the money via
01-Unit, From Kabul Airport
We all left behind the SIV
applicants with approved
and strong documents
needs our right and we all
needs an urgent evacuation
from Afghanistan ASAP.
don,t forget U.S.A Allies
I am Journalist & writter DAI/USAID Employe Also women and children rights Activest in Paktia Province Afghanistan but Iam Lift behind no body hear me no body help me that is so Painfully 😥
I have been applied for p2 visa by my American supervisor about a month ago and yet I am waiting and no new email from government
However there are many flights every day that are evacuating certain people it's unfair that the people who worked who stood who helped American friends are left behind.
all the passport offices are closed the embassies are closed no one can get visa the borders are closed we are stuck here
I hope that the flights which are Arranged from Afghanistan also evacuate the p2 applicants because in this condition in Afghanistan there is no way to leave every where is closed and we feel in danger we can not hide anymore they are finding us
I am a US citizen
My wife and 4 children who Has green cards are stuck in Afghanistan I filled out the evacuation form on August 21 but never get any response
I have worked with USAID/ Chemonics far 15 months on 2018 , Talibans have came to my house and ask me , they leaved a massages , to come for answering some question , it has about two months that I am hiding myself and my family ( three daughters and one son ) in separate houses , we have contacted by several phones , Now Taliban threated my Yong brother to show them , my address . Some of Taliban had problems with my face book posts and my idea in society and my discussions before USA leave Afghanistan , they threat me and their sense was that why I am against Taliban because you are working with the USA so you are spy and support their ideas . One of my colleague killed by Taliban but they denied . Taliban use different techniques for trapping the targets . Please help us , my children lost their school due to me , no financial hope because my hiding . I don't know what should I do ! All decisions about solving the issue under Taliban resume is resulted my life and my families life in dangers . Please help us , we worked honestly for bright future to life in Afghanistan with feelin , I had never plan to leave Afghanistan and were not interesting to leave Afghanistan before Taliban resume came , we have never thought about our life to be under Taliban dectatory, because USA committments about us . We faced so many problems because of supporting democracy , election , human rights , Afghanistan government and USA partnerships in society. Now I feel false and my family life in dangers . Listening A small progress about SIV is big happy news for my children, because our final hope is that . I can't explain everything by details . If I can change my current situation with you for a few second , you will be able feel us. please
We the SIV APPLICANT were promised of getting evacuated, the SIV system was created for those who worked with Americans and they are given special immigrant visas so we are those who stood along, helped along, promised of getting out, but we left behind, we really cant hide ourselves anymore, we are even scared of our shadows sometimes of being in such depressions
I know every life matters, but shopkeepers, college students, and many more undocumented like them are evacuated and we left behind, coz we listened and stayed home, didnt come to HKIA gates thinking that we are promised to stay home and you will be contacted and addressed to come to HKIA
WE ARE REALLY LEFT ABANDONED IN THE HARDEST SITUATION IN THE HIGHEST RISK
HARDLY NEED HELP
I have worked for more than 7 years in a food distribution company in Afghanistan which would dilever food to US army across the country called ANHAM FZCO as inventory control supervisor, It was so hard to get recommendation letter but thanks to my manager Sabina that gave it to me, I applied for SIV with all documents in November 2019, My case went under review in May 2020 but since then I'm waiting for COM approval, I tried every airport gate in August to leave for US but couldn't get in, It was so chaotic, so many people died around me, I slept on road for few nights by the gate but failed, Now I'm left behind with no hope, income or future, Musicians and football players are getting evacuated but no one cares for SIVs, I posted here so someone might help me, It's a matter of life and death, we need to be evacuated.
Here in Afghanistan among the SIV holders is a rumours that a big evacuation will starts soon by sending 01 and 02 corps who helped first evacuation. Is it right?
No SIV applicants or their Families are evacuated all are lifted behind and waiting for their death to come.
Please help lifted behind.
For now third county is not a good choice no country issues visa if they issue single person visa cost upto 2000 USD according to current situation of afghanistan this is a huge amount of money that no SIV applicant can effort.
