Thank You Emily! Thank you for your real, factual and honest REPORTING.... unfortunately "bad reporting", or what I like to call "in favor of the lefties" reporting from the liberal media- is what most people read, listen to and watch.... and they believe all of it... the unsettling truth is that people are so easily influenced and manipulated- it's almost as if humans have been programmed to stop thinking for themselves and the IQ drops automatically with each news broadcast: hence the believe that a piece of fabric, plastic or paper will stop the spread of the "deadliest virus the human kind has ever experienced".... unless you are eating- then the virus pauses and one dosen't have to worry about being infected... how sad.... instead of evolving- humans are regressing.... The point is that if the liberal media says "It was an accident caused by a magic bullet, a prop gun and Baldwin all being stricken with Corona virus (despite having 3 jabs), and the victims are at fault" - people would buy it.

Years ago, during basic training, we shot blanks at pine trees from about 15 feet away, blowing the bark off of the trunks with the wadding. Blank adapters were on our M-14s. Later we had an instructor with several Viet Nam tours under his belt tell us that he had been shot with bullets and once, by an over-excited trainee, with a blank. He said he preferred the bullets. He then pulled up his fatigue shirt to show us the mass of scars on his stomach from the blank.

I don't have any idea what sort of blanks are used in Hollywood or even what sort of firearm Baldwin was using.

It may be premature to underestimate blanks however.

I have to wait and see how the story unfolds as it moves along, the cinematographer and director would be behind the camera if the scene was to point the gun at the camera and shoot, they take a picture ot that as the shooter is shooting towards the audience in most action movies. Is this what it was, and the prop master had the wrong ammo loaded. Lots of questions and us John Q. Public is not privy to, I will say prayers for the victims and families, and for Baldwin also.

All great points Emily. People shouldn’t jump to hold Baldwin responsible. At the same time, everyone shouldn’t be so fast to excuse his responsible behavior.

Good article Emily and how fortunate to have Sal just waiting in the wings 👍 This is such a weird story and I’m really eager to hear all of the facts. Wasiechu has a good point about whether there’s film of the event. Bottom line, though, is Baldwin pointed the gun at the woman and pulled the trigger. Yeah, having NRA training would have been optimal but everyone knows Hollywood has a visceral hatred of the NRA so that would never happen. What a horrible whodunnit.

I must learning something from you. I had the exact first impression when I read news reports. Despite the text on the pages, nowhere did I see a simple truth, Baldwin took a gun, without regard for safety & fired it. He killed one person, gravely wounded another.

What was Baldwin shooting at? He shots one in the chest and another in the shoulder. If it was to film a scene, why are the two in the line of fire? Also, if the camera was running, as firing the gun would suggest, where’s the film?

Saw a great meme. If Baldwin had belonged to the NRA he'd know about gun safety. Never point a gun - loaded or unloaded - at anyone unless you intend to shoot them. Never. Had the basic gun safety promoted by the NRA been followed, this would not have happened. So sad.

NRA lesson two that he failed to learn - when handed a gun the first thing you do is check it out yourself to make sure there is no bullet in the chamber and that the magazine is clear. Again - instead of vilifying the NRA - try learning their simple but effective safety rules.

I agree with most of what you said…You are selling blanks a little short as they are deadly (Brandon Lee)…They are not capable of “pass-through” that would injure a second person though…The final situation is that AB is of the ruling class and will be afforded the level of protection they normally receive…When all is said and done, this will be yet another chapter in an abusive, privileged man’s life…My heart goes to the victims, as they will receive no justice.

Q: How could this have happened?

A: Alec Baldwin.

My wife works in top tier film, she has been in a text group with her friends and the people she knows from that set - the one's that walked off that morning. I cant share the text message screenshots because of their NDA's, but here's the details from them.

1.) Prop guns had misfired 2x before on that set

2.) The ENTIRE crew had walked off THAT MORNING prior to the fatal shooting primarily due to #1 above

3.) The crew wrote individual resignation letters the night before the fatal shooting and presented them that morning

3.) The only people whom stayed were Halyna (DP) and Reid (the B Steady operator)

4.) Baldwin brought in 4 non-union crew to replace those that walked off.

5.) Angered by the walk-off, Baldwin disregarded ALL safety protocols - firearms or otherwise.

6.) The crew had not been paid anything in the 3 weeks prior

7.) Leading to the resignation of the union crew Baldwin had taken he following steps - removed the covid safety compliance, stopped paying for crew hotels despite being in their contract due to distance and dismissed the firearms safety personal.

8.) The entire camera crew had walked off previously for, "severe lapse in safety reasons"

This post it's especially for LaBarbara. Who is responsible for any loaded gun on any movie ???? This is my Question???It is a movie director who suppose to load the gun and make sure it is safe before it's used or someone alse??? ?? There has to be a person who is fully responsible for gun safety on the set. !!!!!Who the hell is that person!!! That person has to be charge for it and why the hell OSHA safety doesn't say anything about what happened!!!!!

Did LaBarbera email or text you his comments, or did you transcribe a spoken conversation?

I ask because this sentence would Make much more sense if that last word were 'armorers' instead of just 'armors':

“Firearm safety instructors — or armors..."

See definition #2 --
