Ms Emily, the reason I chose to participate in the Janssen Johnson and Johnson COVID 19 Vaccine trial was not motivated by statistics. It was the information about those who have comorbidities as I do having a greater chance to succumb to this plague. Plus, I decided that since the US Government already uses my data to contribute to better health through my VHA records (PII excised), The Million Veteran Program, another VA DNA program I participate in, and the various studies I've participated in over the years, mostly via Minneapolis VAHCS, it would do no harm to me to participate in the J and J. And I've also just joined the All of US Research Project via the VA as well and have contributed a biological sample to be analyzed long term, some of the results of which will be shared with me to tailor my medical treatment. Statistics, overall, do not completely give me the total informed picture of anything. As for US Government sources of data, I always assume they are skewed in one way or another because human nature is itself evil, as Jesus Himself mentions in Matthew when he mentions that even though human nature is evil they know how to give good gifts to their children in a number of instances. Can the United States be trusted to give its constituents good and needful things given the evil within human nature?

Statistics and percentages are always a great tool to distort the truth. I am surprised that the vaccination rates are as high as they are when you consider that 72 million Americans voted against the current administration. Mandating vaccinations is morally wrong and I can not believe that it is constitutionally lawful. If we uphold vaccine mandates, can we also allow employers to mandate birth control, as pregnancy is a health "condition" that can have an adverse impact on the individual work place, both in supply interruption and loss of employer investment in specialized training ? Further society is accepting on vaccine ID's and opposed to voter ID's ? I think we need to take a much more careful approach when we are tossing individual freedoms aside, at some point, someone else may be in power and take away freedoms that you are not willing to surrender. One last question, why does "my body, my choice" not apply to vaccine hesitancy ?
