Emily, The situation that ensnared Mr. Witaschek reminds me of another type of government overreach; civil asset forfeiture. How does this happen to a private citizen in America? I also read today (or yesterday) that Canada is happily expanding its further reach into the lives of people in the name of security. It can’t be just me who really sees similarities to European Cold War state security tactics?
I am sorry to hear about Mr. Witaschek, even if I was only following links from more recent Trump raid reports that indeed are very similar. We the people need to keep our government under control, not raiding conservative people just because they do not want to cede absolute power to government officials. Remove them from office, and if they have committed crimes, apply appropriate penalties.
I express my regrets and sorrow that Mr Witaschek did not have his cause heard by SCOTUS. We can only hope that in the future a case with similar characteristics is heard and a decision is made that would favor Mr Witaschek and people similarly situated. This kind of thing makes the District of Columbia an unsafe jurisdiction for me to even consider being present in

Hard to understand a lot of what goes on with this Supreme Court. God Bless and guide Mark in his decisions with this going forward.
